Okay, so I go out with the dogs this morning to do the Poop Patrol.  We're doing this a few times a day because Puck, the newest addition to the pack, (a corgi/pomeranian mix--yeah, that's right, a porgi) had worms and we have to pick up the poop.  He seems to be getting over them--at least from my unprofessional observation of the material in question--but he goes back for a check-up this week.

Anyways....

There I was, doing the patrol, when what do I find in the back yard but...a DEAD OPOSSUM!  About the size of a large hamster, or a small guinea pig, or maybe a squirrel.  In other words, not an adult.  I've never run into a (an?) opossum in the backyard before, dead or otherwise.

And before anyone asks, no it wasn't just "playing 'possum".  If it was, I must commend it, for the blood and the buzzing flies were used to very good effect.  I'm glad that all of the dogs have had their rabies vaccinations, but I'll keep an eye on them just the same.  The deceased opossum (the un-opossum, who has shucked off this mortal coil and joined the choir invisibule) went into the bag with the poop..and the dead earthworms that Puck seems to enjoy chewing on.

*sigh*  I wonder if Mike Rowe needs an assistant on DIRTY JOBS?
